Patna Pirates defeated UP Yoddhas 36-28 in a tense PKL 2025 clash in Chennai. Ayan Lohchab scored 15 points, achieving his 300-point career milestone, while Navdeep secured a High Five in defence. Despite Gagan Gowda’s Super 10 for the Yoddhas, the Pirates’ strong raids and defence, including a key All Out, helped them climb off the bottom of the table.

As the Pro Kabaddi League 2025 clash unfolded in Chennai, Patna Pirates delivered a spirited performance to overcome UP Yoddhas 36-28, climbing off the bottom of the points table. The match began with the Yoddhas taking an early edge, largely due to Gagan Gowda’s brilliance, who scored nine raid points from just four raids, including a Super Raid that sent three Pirates defenders off the mat. Mahender Singh added to UP’s early momentum with a precise tackle on Sudhakar M. Patna Pirates responded through the outstanding raiding of Ayan Lohchab, who scored 15 points, combining sharp footwork and fearless attacks to target key defenders like Sumit, Bhavani Rajput, and Mahender Singh.

The first half ended with UP holding a slim 12-8 lead, but the Pirates quickly turned the game around in the second phase, scoring eight points to UP’s two, thanks to strong defensive efforts from Deepak and Ankit and a Super Tackle on Bhavani. Ayan continued his fine form, completing a Super 10 and surpassing 300 career PKL points, while Navdeep led the defence with a High Five.

Patna’s first All Out on the Yoddhas marked the decisive turning point. Despite Gagan’s Super 10 and Mahender’s defence, UP could not recover. The Pirates’ consistent all-round performance secured a morale-boosting eight-point victory and reignited their campaign.
