In the Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-1, handing the defending champions their third consecutive defeat. The game saw drama till the final moments as 17-year-old Estevao Willian netted a 95th-minute winner to seal victory for the Blues. Earlier, Moises Caicedo had given Chelsea the lead in the 14th minute with a spectacular strike from the edge of the area after Liverpool lost possession cheaply.

Cody Gakpo later equalised for Liverpool in the second half, converting from close range following a cross by Dominik Szoboszlai. Despite the goal, Liverpool struggled to regain control, with Mohamed Salah missing two key chances as his poor run continued. Chelsea’s goalkeeper Robert Sanchez made vital saves to deny Ryan Gravenberch and Salah, while Enzo Fernandez also hit the post during a late surge.

The win lifted Enzo Maresca’s side to sixth place, easing pressure on the manager after two league defeats. Meanwhile, Arne Slot’s Liverpool slipped to second, one point behind new leaders Arsenal, following three losses in a row to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, and Chelsea. The defeat exposed Liverpool’s defensive lapses and lack of cohesion despite spending over £400 million on summer signings.
