Manchester City star Erling Haaland shocked fans by going on a fishing trip in Newquay, Cornwall, after Champions League exit. The 24-year-old striker, earning £500,000 per week, flew via private helicopter and was spotted with a friend, catching fish. Haaland, who missed City 3-1 second-leg defeat to Real Madrid, enjoyed his unexpected break before City next match against Brighton.

With the Champions League out of the picture for Manchester City, star striker Erling Haaland took a surprising break, opting for a sea fishing trip in Cornwall. The 24-year-old, spotted in Newquay, traveled over 315 miles from Manchester and even managed to catch a fish. Fans quickly recognized him, and he was seen taking photos and signing autographs before making a swift exit.

Haaland reportedly flew to Cornwall via a private helicopter and stayed at North Fistral. Local fisherman Dave Trebilcock, who took him on the fishing trip, revealed that the booking was kept top secret until the last moment. This break came after City's shocking Champions League exit, where they lost 6-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the Round of 16. Haaland missed the second leg due to injury but had scored twice in the first match before Madrid’s Jude Bellingham netted a last-minute winner.

Haaland’s teammate Phil Foden is also a known fishing enthusiast. Meanwhile, City will return to action against Brighton on Saturday as they push for Premier League glory. Despite his £500,000-a-week earnings, Haaland's low-key getaway in Cornwall has left fans both amused and impressed.
