Bayern Munich, boosted by new signings Luis Díaz, Jonathan Tah, and Tom Bischof, face Bundesliga runners-up Stuttgart in the Supercup. Harry Kane, last season’s 26-goal Bundesliga top scorer, leads Bayern’s attack, while Stuttgart rely on Nick Woltemade (17 goals in 2024). Both sides miss key players through injury, with Jamal Musiala and Alexander Nübel among absentees.

When the 2025 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup kicks off at the MHPArena, Bayern Munich will face VfB Stuttgart in a high-profile season opener. Bayern’s attack features Harry Kane, last season’s Bundesliga top scorer with 26 league goals and 41 in all competitions, alongside new signing Luis Díaz, the third Colombian to play for the club. Teen talent Lennart Karl, who impressed in pre-season with one goal and two assists, could start on the right, while Michael Olise moves centrally in place of the injured Jamal Musiala.

Stuttgart, last season’s Bundesliga runners-up under Sebastian Hoeneß, will look to Deniz Undav and Nick Woltemade, who scored 17 goals in all competitions to challenge Bayern’s defense. Stuttgart’s squad includes four Germany internationals but faces injury concerns, with goalkeeper Alexander Nübel doubtful and defenders Dan-Axel Zagadou and Leonidas Stergiou sidelined. Angelo Stiller, back from injury, may return to midfield.

Bayern, led by new coach Vincent Kompany, had a strong pre-season with wins over Lyon, Tottenham, and Grasshoppers, while Stuttgart recorded a 6-0 win over Toulouse in friendlies. Historically, Bayern have won both previous Supercup meetings with Stuttgart, in 1986 and 2013.
