Being the captain who leads from the front, he helped India to win two consecutive ICC titles. Despite taking a seven-month break from international cricket, his comeback in the Australian tour allowed the fans to watch him at his best. 1. T20 World Cup 2024

Time started to bloom for Rohit Sharma from June 2024, with the commencement of the T20 World Cup. He was the captain of the team in this tournament, and it was also his last T20 World Cup for the team. Having already won it as a player, he was now eager to win as a captain.

Rohit Sharma led India to a successful campaign in the tournament, being undefeated as they headed to the semi-final. India and England faced each other in this game, the same team which knocked India out of the T20 World Cup 2022. But Rohit Sharma led India from the front, scoring 57 runs in this game.

The Indian bowlers were able to finish the game with ease, as England was restricted to just 103. Winning the game, India marched to the finals against South Africa. The team ended up scoring 176 runs, giving a target of 177 to the Proteas. The match went down till the last over, as India stitched a comeback.

South Africa fell short of the target by 7 runs, as India won the T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma was also the top run scorer for the Indian team in the entire tournament, as he ended up scoring 257 runs in 8 innings at an average of 36.71. This also included three half-centuries.

2. Champions Trophy 2025

Rohit Sharma once again had the best time as a captain during the Champions Trophy 2025. It was the next ICC tournament after the T20 World Cup 2024, as India had high hopes this time. At first, Rohit Sharma led the Indian team to top the group stages with wins in all three games.

Later in the semi-final, India went against Australia. This was a challenging game for the team, as Australia scored 264 runs. Still, India was able to chase down the total with 4 wickets and 11 balls remaining. Virat Kohli received the POTM award, and Rohit Sharma led the team to the finals once again.

In the finals, India went against New Zealand for the title. New Zealand had no answers to India's spin attack, as they were able to score just 251/7. Rohit Sharma started the chase and ended up scoring 76 runs off 83 balls. India ended up winning the final match by 4 wickets, as Rohit Sharma won the POTM award for his knock.

3. India vs Australia ODI Series

With the Champions Trophy final, Rohit Sharma played his next game for India in the ODI series against Australia. He had retired from the Test format in May and marked his international comeback in October, after nine months. The start of the series was not good for him,

But he made his comeback in the second ODI, and he ended up scoring 73 runs in the game. India still lost the first two games, with everything down to the last game. Here also, Rohit Sharma scored a century, allowing India to win the last game with ease. Rohit Sharma received the POTM and POTS award for being the highest run scorer in the series.

4. Number One ODI Rankings
