Smriti Mandhana jumps to career-best third in latest ICC T20I rankings

India women’s cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana has managed to register a career-high ranking of number three in the latest update of the ICC Women's T20I rankings for batters. Harmanpreet Kaur slipped to number nine while Radha Yadav jumped five spots to finish fifth in the bowler's list.

It's turning out to be a great season for India youngster, Smriti Mandhana, who has managed to break yet another milestone in her short span with the senior women’s cricket team. After being adjudged as ICC women’s cricketer of the year for the 2018 season, Mandhana has managed to make it into the top-three batters in the ICC Women’s T20I ranking for the first time in her career.

Mandhana, who is currently the top-ranked ODI batter amongst women led the T20I side in the absence of Harmanpreet Kaur in the recent home series. She scored 72 runs in the three matches, which included a fifty in the third match. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet dropped two spots to number nine in the rankings after she was forced to sit on the sideline due to injury.

Amongst the female Indian bowlers, Radha Yadav managed to jump five slots to end up ranked fifth on the list after she bagged three wickets from two matches. Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht also finished with three from two to gain three places and jump to 56th in the list. Off-spinner Anuja Patil moved up from 35th to 31st position.

England's Danielle Wyatt also achieved career-best position in the T20I Player rankings after the visitors defeated India 3-0 in the three-match series in Guwahati. Danielle, who was also adjudged as player of the series after scoring 123 runs, gained two slots and reach 17th in the list.
