As the Pro Kabaddi League 2025 progresses, Puneri Paltan has established itself as one of the most well-rounded teams in the tournament. With nine wins from 12 matches, they currently sit second on the points table, just behind Dabang Delhi. Captain Pankaj Mohite and raider Aditya Shinde have carried the offensive load, but it is the team’s strong defence, led by Gaurav Khatri, that has been pivotal. Paltan boast the best tackle average in the league at 12.1, highlighted by a season-best 20 tackle points against U Mumba.
Their defensive strength was on full display in their 41-36 victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers at the SDAT Multipurpose Stadium in Chennai. After dominating the first half 25-12, Paltan faced a fierce comeback from Iranian raider Ali Samadi, who almost turned the game around. Crucial super tackles by Mohit Goyat, including one that stopped Samadi and another that extended Paltan’s lead, were decisive in securing the win.
Mohit finished with seven points, while Mohite and Shinde contributed 21 raid points collectively. With a balanced squad and effective workload management, Puneri Paltan aim to maintain their momentum and push for the title in PKL 2025, relying on both their offensive firepower and exceptional defensive coordination.
