Dabang Delhi KC, PKL 8 champions and playoff qualifiers for six straight seasons, aim for glory in PKL 12 under coach Joginder Narwal. They spent Rs 4.899 crore on 16 players, retaining Ashu Malik for Rs 1.90 crore and adding Fazel Atrachali, but face challenges after Naveen Kumar’s exit and limited all-rounder options.

When the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 kicks off, Dabang Delhi KC will aim to reclaim the title they last won in Season 8 after falling short in the semi-finals last year. Known for their consistency, Delhi have made the Playoffs in each of the past six seasons. Under head coach Joginder Narwal, they finished second in Season 11 with 13 wins in 22 matches, securing 81 points before losing to Patna Pirates in the semis.

At the Season 12 auction, Delhi were among the busiest, spending Rs 4.899 crore to sign 16 players. They retained star raider Ashu Malik for two seasons at Rs 1.90 crore and added raiders Neeraj Narwal (Rs 32.60 lakh) and Ajinkya Pawar (Rs 13 lakh). In defence, they secured Fazel Atrachali, Pro Kabaddi’s most successful defender with 545 tackle points, for Rs 30 lakh, along with Surjeet Singh, Amir Hossein Bastami, and Saurabh Nandal.

However, the departure of captain Naveen Kumar, MVP in Seasons 7 and 8 leaves a major void in attack. Additionally, their all-rounder depth appears thin, with only Amit, Ashish Kumar Sangwan, Naveen, and Arkam Shaikh as recognised options, which could impact their balance this season.
