Arsenal Transfer Update as Gabriel Jesus Faces Palmeiras Interest.

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, who joined the club for £45 million from Manchester City in 2022, could be targeted by Palmeiras in the January transfer window. The 28-year-old is recovering from an ACL injury suffered in early 2025 and has returned to training, though he may not play until December or January. Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has expressed hopes of bringing the Brazil international back to São Paulo.

As the January transfer window approaches, Arsenal could face the possibility of losing one of their key forwards, Gabriel Jesus. The 28-year-old Brazilian, who joined the Gunners from Manchester City in 2022 for £45 million, is currently recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United at the start of 2025. Before his injury, Jesus had been in excellent form, scoring three goals in four Premier League games and a hat-trick against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.

Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has expressed a strong desire to bring Jesus back to his boyhood club in São Paulo, describing him as her “dream signing” ahead of January. Jesus, who previously shone at Palmeiras before moving to Manchester City for £27 million plus add-ons, has been gradually returning to training at Arsenal’s Sobha Realty Centre after completing the initial phase of his rehabilitation.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indicated that Jesus may not be ready for competitive action until December or January, depending on his recovery progress. Despite this, Jesus remains motivated to help Arsenal challenge for the Premier League, having already won the title four times with Manchester City. His ambition is to contribute to Arsenal’s success while repaying the faith of the club and its fans.
