Real Madrid Eye Haaland as Vinicius Jr Contract Talks Stall

After the contract extension talks between Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr came to a halt, tension has risen within the club. The Brazilian winger reportedly demanded a new deal worth €25 million net per year for five seasons, but Real Madrid have refused to meet his terms. According to Sport, the Spanish giants have instead offered €22 million annually, including bonuses, insisting that this is their final offer. Vinicius’s camp has now started to reconsider its position, realizing the club will not increase the amount.

Madrid president Florentino Perez has faced similar contract standoffs in the past with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos, both of whom eventually left the club. To avoid another prolonged saga, Real Madrid are prepared to sell Vinicius Jr if no agreement is reached soon, rather than risk losing him for free when his current contract expires in 2027. In anticipation of a possible departure, Perez has already identified Erling Haaland as the ideal replacement.
