For the sixth matchweek of the 2025-26 Premier League, surprises dominated the results as several top teams faltered. West Ham United earned a 1-1 draw at Everton in Nuno Espirito Santo’s debut, with Jarrod Bowen scoring the first visiting goal at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium after Michael Keane had put the home side ahead. Arsenal ended a three-game losing streak with a dramatic 2-1 win at Newcastle, thanks to late goals from Mikel Merino and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Aston Villa claimed their first victory of the season, beating Fulham 3-1 with goals from Ollie Watkins, John McGinn, and Emi Buendia. Saturday saw Manchester United lose 3-1 at Brentford despite Bruno Fernandes missing a crucial penalty, while Liverpool’s unbeaten start ended with a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace as Eddie Nketiah scored in added time. Chelsea suffered a 3-1 loss at home to Brighton, compounded by Trevoh Chalobah’s early red card, while Manchester City routed Burnley 5-1 with Erling Haaland scoring twice and benefitting from two own goals by Maxime Esteve.

The season has also seen new promotions for Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland, and nine English clubs are competing in European competitions. Early-season standout performers include Ryan Gravenberch, Lucas Bergvall, Dominik Szoboszlai, Joao Palhinha, and Richarlison, highlighting a competitive and unpredictable Premier League start.
