Frank Lampard’s Coventry City Bounce Back with 3-1 Win Over Sheffield United.

Championship leaders Coventry City returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Sheffield United at the CBS Arena. Sam McCallum gave the Blades an early lead, but second-half goals from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Bobby Thomas, and Brandon Thomas-Asante sealed Frank Lampard’s ninth league win as United slipped deeper into the relegation zone.

In the Sky Bet Championship clash at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Coventry City returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Sheffield United. Frank Lampard’s side, coming off their first league defeat of the season, showed strong character after falling behind in the first half. Former Coventry defender Sam McCallum gave the Blades the lead midway through the opening period, capitalising on a flick from Ben Mee. However, the hosts responded impressively after the break.

Tatsuhiro Sakamoto equalised early in the second half, finding the bottom corner for his third consecutive goal, before defender Bobby Thomas headed home from a Victor Torp corner to make it 2-1. Joint top scorer Brandon Thomas-Asante sealed the result late on, tapping in from close range after a swift counterattack. The win marked Coventry’s ninth of the campaign and reaffirmed their place at the top of the Championship table.

Meanwhile, Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United slipped to a third consecutive defeat, leaving them in the relegation zone. Lampard praised his side’s energy and attacking intent in the second half, while Wilder admitted defensive lapses from set-pieces cost his team dearly despite a competitive first-half display.
