Barcelona are keen to sign Marcus Rashford permanently after his impressive loan spell from Manchester United, where he has scored six goals and provided seven assists in 14 appearances. The club plans to activate the €30 million option-to-buy clause, but Rashford must accept another pay cut, reducing his current €10 million gross earnings.
For the English forward Marcus Rashford, his loan spell at Barcelona has proven to be a turning point in his career. Since joining Hansi Flick’s side from Manchester United, Rashford has delivered six goals and seven assists in just 14 appearances, becoming one of Barcelona’s standout performers this season. The Catalan club, currently battling financial challenges, is reportedly eager to make his move permanent once the loan deal ends.
According to reports, the loan agreement included a €30 million buy option, but Barcelona are now negotiating to pay around €10 million (approximately Rs 100 crore) in total, including bonuses. To complete the transfer, Rashford would likely have to accept another pay cut, adding to the one he already took to join the club. European football expert Andy Brassell noted that both parties are pleased with the partnership, hinting that Barcelona may offer Rashford a longer contract at similar wages to his current deal.
The 27-year-old’s strong form has also earned him a recall to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After previously falling out of favor at Manchester United and spending a short loan stint with Aston Villa, Rashford now appears revitalized in Spain.
