The second game is being played at the Adelaide Oval, a ground which holds happy memories for the Indian cricket team. It should be noted that India has not lost any of its last five ODI games at this ground, winning four and one ending in a tie.

1. India tour of Australia, 2nd ODI: 2019

The last time India played an ODI match at this ground, it was against Australia in 2019. Moreover, it was also the second ODI of the series, with Australia winning the first one. Australia took the home ground advantage and batted first in this game. The team managed to score 298/9, with Shaun Marsh scoring 131, and Maxwell scoring 48.

In response, the Indian team had its own fireworks from the start. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave a dominant start to the team. This was followed by Virat Kohli scoring 104 runs during the chase. Australia batted first in this game and posted a total of 269 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Peter Forrest (66) and David Hussey (72) powered the team to reach this total.

While the Indian bowlers had the upper hand, Sri Lanka scored just 238 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Kumar Sangakkara scored 128 while Mahela Jayawardene scored 71 runs.

India did not have a good start during the chase, as the team stood at 35/3 in 11.4 overs. Rohit Sharma played a knock of 24 runs, after which Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni played together to chase down the total. Yuvraj Singh scored 76 runs off 70 balls, while Dhoni stood at 50 runs off 68 balls. In the end, India won the game by 2 wickets, as Sangakkara received the POTM award.
