New Zealand will host England in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Monday, October 20. The Blackcaps will eye winning this game and securing a home T20I win since they lost the three-match T20I series against Australia earlier this month.

NZ vs ENG

New Zealand haven’t been through an expected run of form in the T20 internationals, as they have won only one game, while losing two, alongside two no-result games in their last five T20I appearances. Before the series against England, the Blackcaps lost to the Aussies by 0-2 in the three-match T20I series earlier this month. They will aim to win this game against, securing a 1-0 lead in the series and ending their winless run since the last four T20Is.

Speaking of England, they haven’t lost any game but three out of their last five T20Is have ended without any result, alongside two wins against Ireland. They will be playing under the leadership of the newly appointed skipper, Harry Brook, so the Three Lions will eye winning the second T20I against the Kiwis to secure a lead in the three-match series.

NZ vs ENG Head-to-Head in T20Is

New Zealand and England have faced each other in 28 T20Is since they started taking on each other in the shortest format of the game. In these 28 clashes, England have dominated this contest with 16 wins, while the Kiwis have won 10 games, including two games ending without any result. So, both teams will look forward to increasing the number of wins in their favour with a win in this game.

Pitch and Weather

The Hagley Oval pitch is expected to look a bit firm with an even covering of grass, good for batting, but early seam movement is expected under lights. Dew later might aid chasing.

The weather in Christchurch on Monday is expected to be cool, with a slight evening breeze across the ground and the temperatures hovering around 21 degrees Celsius.
