IND vs WI | Twitter surprised as Brandon King’s brainfade sees Siraj uproot his middle stump

Test Cricket is all about decisiveness, and West Indies batter Brandon King showed what a lack of it can do during the first Test against India on Thursday. The batter shouldered arms to a straight forward inswinging delivery in Ahmedabad to see his middle stump uprooted by Mohammed Siraj.

‌West Indies had a rocky start after captain Roston Chase opted to bat against India in the first Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Mohammed Siraj was fortunate to get opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul with a delivery that went down the leg stump.

Jasprit Bumrah also joined in as he sent back the other opener John Campbell in the seventh over with the score reading just 20. With Brandon King and Alick Atahnaze showing glimpses of a fight during their brief partnership, it looked like the visitors would coast over their initial wobble.

But it was just hopes as Brandon King broke his initial promise with a horrific brainfade in Siraj’s fifth over. The pacer started with an away swinger, which King missed before bowling three balls that came into the batter.

But still, the West Indies number four decided to shoulder arms off the next ball, only to find his middle stump out of place. The red cherry pitched on a length outside off stump before moving in sharply.

But King shocked everyone as he left it alone, and soon Siraj was into his trademark celebration. Twitter was shocked to see such indecisiveness from King, and that too in the first session of the first day, as the visitors were reeling at 39/3 inside 10 overs.
