Each and every team is looking forward to getting the best of the IPL Trade Window. And this list even includes the five time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians. As per the recent reports, Mumbai Indians is being involved in a trade deal with Lucknow SuperGiants. And with this trade, Arjun Tendulkar is likely to get
This deal between MI and LSG is being done as the five time IPL champions are eager to have an Indian all-rounder to their team. And this player is none other than Shardul Thakur, who has been an active part of the Indian team. It should be noted that this trade deal is not a swap, it is likely to be treated as separate cash deals.
1. Arjun Tendulkar
Arjun Tendulkar has been rapidly making his name in the Indian Premier League. He is known as the son of Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, but over the past few years, he has worked off to prove himself on his own. Arjun started off his career being a left arm fast pacer, and even offers some batting power while coming down the order.
Arjun Tendulkar in IPL:
- Innings: 5
- Overs: 12.1
- Wickets: 3
- Average: 38.00
- Economy: 9.36
Eventually, he became a part of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021 when the team brought him for 20 lakh rupees at his base price. He was able to make his way to the team, but found it tough to make it to the playing XI of the team. Mumbai Indians already had depth in its bowling line-up, which provided less room for
After spending two years on the bench but still being retained by the team, Mumbai Indians decided to give a chance to the youngster. He played his first IPL match in the 2023 edition against Kolkata Knight Riders. Unfortunately, Tendulkar failed to take a wicket in the game, but he was with the new ball.
His maiden IPL wicket came in the next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He took the wicket of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, marking his way to the Indian Premier League. But Tendulkar has not received consistent opportunities to play for Mumbai Indians ever since he has been picked by the team.
2. Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur is the next player being involved in this trade deal with Mumbai Indians. Lord Shardul has been a part of various IPL teams and Mumbai Indians is likely to be another name added to the list. He started off with his IPL journey back in 2015, when he used to play for Kings XI Punjab.
Shardul Thakur in IPL (Bowling):
- Innings: 102
- Overs: 345
- Wickets: 107
- Average: 30.31
- Economy: 9.40
- Four-wicket Hauls: 2
As a fast bowling all-rounder, Shardul Thakur has been a two in one package for his team. His main breakthrough in the IPL came in the 2017 edition, when he was a part of Rising Pune SuperGiants. With his performances for the team, he eventually made it to the Chennai Super Kings line-up, and played several seasons for the team.
Shardul Thakur in IPL (Batting):
- Innings: 42
- Not Out: 14
- Runs: 325
- Average: 11.60
- Strike Rate: 139.48
- 50s: 1
But his time with CSK came to an end in 2021, when he was not retained and eventually bought by Delhi Capitals. Since IPL 2022, his teams have changed with every season. Shardul Thakur has gone from Delhi Capitals to Kolkata Knight Riders, from Kolkata Knight Riders to Chennai Super Kings, and Chennai Super Kings to Lucknow SuperGiants.
And now it seems that Shardul Thakur will not be continuing with Lucknow SuperGiants for the next season. If he gets traded to Mumbai Indians, it will be great to have two fast bowling Indian all-rounders, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur play for the same team.
3. Shardul and Arjun Deal
Shardul Thakur and Arjun Tendulkar are involved in two separate deals. Since Arjun Tendulkar is valued at 30 lakh rupees and Shardul Thakur is being valued at 2 crore rupees, the difference is huge. Due to this reason, the deal between the Mumbai Indians and Lucknow SuperGiants deal.
And both teams are likely to have agreed for an all-cash deal. This means Lucknow SuperGiants will be getting 2 crore rupees by trading Shardul Thakur to Mumbai. On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians will be getting 30 lakhs by trading Arjun Tendulkar to Lucknow SuperGiants.
