The Test season for the Indian team has now started once again. Now, the team will be going against South Africa, the World Test Championship defending champions, in a two-match series. This series will be taking place in India only, as the first match is set to on 14 November.
Also, it should be noted that the first game of the series will be played at Eden Gardens. A Stadium that is known for hosting the big games now finally gets its chance to host a Test match. It will be almost six years since a Test match has been played at this venue, taking fans back to the era when they didn't even know about COVID-19.
1. India vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test
India and Bangladesh went against each other the last time India played a Test match at the Eden Gardens. This match started on 22 November 2019, which means that the test against South Africa will mark almost six years since the last test at this venue.

With Virat Kohli as a captain, the Indian team looked flawless in the Test format. And now, Kohli has extended his undefeated home series in the Test format with the series against Bangladesh. In the second Test at the Eden Gardens, Bangladesh was able to win the toss and they decided to bat first.
But this decision soon turned out to be their biggest regret. The team stood at the score of 38/5, as Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Shami started to dominate the Bangladeshi batsmen. Following this, Ishant Sharma took the command, completing his five-wicket haul and bowling Bangladesh all out for 106 runs.

In response, India was able to post 347 runs on the board with the loss of 9 wickets before declaring. The team did have a shaky start, losing both openers which put them at 43/2. But after this, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli had a great stand, which put the team in a lead. Pujara and Rahane ended up scoring half-centuries for the team.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli stood as the center of attention. The Indian captain ended up scoring 136 runs off 194 balls with 18 fours. With India already ending up with a massive lead, they just had to end Bangladesh's innings before they could complete the lead.

India once again had a great start, putting Bangladesh at 13/4. But Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah had a great stand, which started to pressurise the Indian bowlers. Soon Mahmudullah was retired hurt and India found a chance to come back. Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav took command and grabbed the remaining wickets to help India win the game.
