The India tour of Australia has now ended, giving lots of emotions and memories to the fans. This tour of Australia was highly awaited, as it was the last for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. It saw the domination of both sides on equal scale, with India winning the T20I series and Australia

Following this, the Indian team now prepares for the series against South Africa. Since it will be played at home from 14 November, it is the right time for the team to assess its mistakes for the same. India's Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir, opened up after the team's performance in the Australian tour.

1. Gambhir on Australia Tour

With the India tour of Australia coming to an end, Gautam Gambhir was present at a press conference. He talked about the team's performance in the Australian tour. It was a happy moment for the team to have won the T20I series, but it was equally sad for them to have lost the ODI series also by 2-1.

For this, Gautam Gambhir , “I think I've always been a believer that it's not about the individual performances. Yes, I can be very happy with the individual performances. But ultimately, we lost the one-day series (vs AUS). That's the bottom line. And I can never celebrate a series loss as a coach.”

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli marked their comeback to the ODI format in the Australian tour. The start of the series was not good for either of them, as Rohit Sharma got dismissed for 8 and Kohli got out for a duck. In the second match, Kohli again for a duck, as Rohit went on to score a half-century.

But in the final ODI, both of them marked their comeback together, as Rohit Sharma brought up a ton. Virat Kohli also scored in the 70s, as India ended up getting the consolation win and avoided the whitewash. India will now be preparing for its upcoming series against South Africa, which will start on 14 November.

2. Gambhir Talks About Dressing Room

In his interview with the BCCI, Gautam Gambhir also talked about the environment of the Indian dressing room. At the start of the video, he , “We as a nation and we as individuals should never, never celebrate a series loss. Ultimately, we are representing the country.”

He further said that the environment of the Indian dressing room is transparent. With the team celebrating the wins and learning from the losses, they have made every series memorable. For this, he also talked about Shubman Gill, saying that the dressing room has been honest and transparent with him as the captain.

This shows that the team is now doing well in terms of the dressing room, also, as there were reports earlier of someone leaking team news during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Now with Gambhir being optimistic for the upcoming games against South Africa and New Zealand, India hopes to continue the similar form across all formats of the game and establish its dominance yet again.
