Nizar smashes 11 sixes in last 12 balls

The game of T20 cricket is known for moments where players change the game with one magical knock. One of these incredible innings was witnessed in the Kerala Cricket League by Salman Nizar, who smacked 11 sixes in the last two overs to take his team to a competitive total.

‌The state T20 franchise tournaments and Indian domestic tournaments have introduced the cricket fraternity to some incredible young players in the cricketing world. One of those talented batters is Salman Nizar, who has already given some promising performances for Kerala in first-class cricket and has followed it with some incredible performances in the second season of the Kerala Cricket League. The 28-year-old southpaw is having a great tournament and has scored 296 runs in the six matches while representing the Calicut Globstars, and is the second leading run scorer in the tournament. While he has already played some great knocks in the tournament, it is his recent knock that stole the show.

Nizar came to bat in the 14th over of the first innings against Adani Trivandrum Royals, and though he was looking good at the crease, he kept running out of partners at the other end. It seemed like the game was in control of the Royals as the Globstars were restricted to a score of 115/6 in 18 overs. However, the left-handed batter had other plans as he smacked the experienced Basil Thampi for 31 runs in the 19th over, which included five consecutive sixes and a single of the last ball. Though the over by Thampi already made a huge difference in the score, the 28-year-old was not done there as he continued the carnage in the last over by Abhijith Praveen V, who conceded another 40 runs. Nizar had smacked another six sixes off the over, which included a wide and a no-ball. Nizar, who was on 17 off 13 at the end of the 18th over, ended up being unbeaten on 86 off 26 deliveries while his team finished on a competitive score of 186/6 with over 70 runs coming of the last 12 balls.

It was an entertaining knock from the talented middle-order batter.
