McKenny Clarke pulls out a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Jewel Andrew

The unbelievable and outstanding catches near the boundary line are pleasant sights to watch for cricket fans on the field. A similar kind of mind-blowing catch was executed by Trinbago Knight Riders’ McKenny Clarke to dismiss Jewel Andrew in the game against ABF in the ongoing CPL 2025.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons took on the Trinbago Knight Riders in the 14th game of the tournament’s current season. The Knight Riders won the toss and asked the Falcons to bat first. Star TKR pacer Mohammad Amir gave the first two blows to the Falcons in the first over, dismissing Rahkeem Cornwall and Karima Gore, without letting them get off the mark. Following this, Jewel Andrew and Andries Gous (14) took charge, stitching a 46-run partnership for the third wicket before the latter was dismissed by Akeal Hosein in the seventh over. After an addition of just 15 runs, the Falcons lost the veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (13) at the team score of 71 runs in 11 overs. Immediately on the first ball of the next over, there came a moment which left everyone in awe, including the commentators and spectators.

It happened when Andre Russell bowled a hard line and length ball with an extra bounce off the pitch. Jewel managed to stride forward and swung his bat at it, the ball ended up finding the leading edge and went to the wide of deep extra cover. The sweeper fielder McKenny Clarke moved around near the ropes, stretched his arms towards the ball’s flight, and took a successful one-handed catch with his right hand. Clarke’s amazing one-handed catch ended Andrew’s 40-run knock off 31 balls, with three fours and two sixes.

After Andrew’s dismissal, the contributions of skipper Imad Wasim (37) and lower-order batter Usama Mir (34) helped the Falcons post 146/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Knight Riders’ Mohammad Amir bowled an amazing spell, scalping three wickets for just 22 runs in his four overs, including a maiden over. Besides him, Akeal Hosein and Andre Russell also bagged two wickets each in their respective four-over spell. While chasing the target, the Knight Riders comfortably crossed the line in 18.4 overs, scoring 152/2 courtesy of the brilliant knocks played by Alex Hales (55* runs off 46 balls) and Keacy Carty (60 runs off 45 balls). Skipper Nicholas Pooran also went unbeaten, scoring a quick 23 runs off just 11 balls, with two sixes.
