The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will take on the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the tournament opener of the Caribbean Premier League 2025. The game will be played at Warner Park in St. Kitts on Thursday, with both teams aiming to start their campaign on a winning note with success in this game.

After a dismal campaign in the last edition of the Caribbean Premier League last year, in 2024, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are set to take on the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the first game of the tournament’s 2025 edition. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots had a horrific run in CPL 2024, as they won only one game while losing nine games in their 10 matches. They also faced five consecutive defeats in their last five league matches in the tournament.

On the other hand, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons also had an unexpected journey in the last edition. They won only three games while losing seven in their 10 fixtures. They registered two wins and faced three defeats in their last five league fixtures in the tournament. So, they will also be eyeing starting their CPL 2025 on a successful note with a win in this game against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Form Guide

Both teams will be playing their first game in the tournament’s current edition, so they will aim to start on a fresh note, forgetting the lows they went through during the last CPL.

SKNP vs ABF Head-to-Head in T20S

The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons faced each other on two occasions last year in CPL 2024. In the tournament opener, the Patriots defeated the Falcons by a narrow margin of just one wicket, followed by the Falcons winning the next game by a two-wicket margin. So, both teams will aim to take a lead by 2-1 in the head-to-head scoreline against each other in the Caribbean Premier League.

Pitch and Weather

It will be a typical flat surface at Warner Park, offering the batters the chance to enjoy the stroke-making. A good outfield and shorter boundaries in the square will give them an easy chance to post a big total on the board. However, the spinners are expected to get some help as the game progresses to the second half.

The weather in Basseterre will be warm and humid in the evening, with a light breeze; there will not be any kind of rain threat throughout the entire course of the game.

Team News

It will be the first game of the tournament, alongside being a campaign opener for both teams. So, both teams will look forward to fielding their best playing XI on the field in this game.

SKNP Probable XI: Andre Fletcher, Alick Athanaze, Evin Lewis, Kyle Mayers, Rilee Rossouw, Mikyle Louis, Jason Holder, Mohammad Nawaz, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Jeremiah Louis, Ashmead Nedd.
