Manpreet Singh Enjoys Live PKL Action, Praises League’s Role for Young Players

Former India hockey captain Manpreet Singh attended PKL Season 12 at Delhi’s Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, witnessing Bengal Warriorz’s comeback, U Mumba vs Jaipur Pink Panthers, and a 50-point win by defending champions Gujarat Giants. He praised the league for providing young players a global platform, supported Puneri Paltan, and expressed interest in playing as a raider under Ajay Thakur.

Going to the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Tuesday, former Indian hockey captain Manpreet Singh witnessed an action-packed Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 triple-header. The day began with Bengal Warriorz completing a remarkable comeback against Tamil Thalaivas, followed by a tightly contested match between U Mumba and Jaipur Pink Panthers. The session concluded with the defending champions registering a dominant 50-point win over Gujarat Giants.

Manpreet, a two-time Olympic bronze medallist and Commonwealth Games silver medallist, expressed his excitement at experiencing live kabaddi for the first time. He highlighted players like Ajay Thakur, Rahul Chaudhary, and Randeep Hooda, praising their skills and strategic gameplay. A big fan of Puneri Paltan, Manpreet revealed his support stems from his long-standing friendship with Ajay Thakur, and he considers them strong contenders to win the season.

He also expressed interest in playing as a raider under Thakur’s guidance, while admiring other standout players like Aslam Inamdar.
