As the third leg of Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) unfolds at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, Puneri Paltan faced Bengaluru Bulls in match 59 of the season without their captain, Aslam Inamdar. This marked the first time Inamdar missed a match in the current edition. Puneri Paltan, sitting second in the points table with 14 points from 10 games, had a strong start to the Chennai leg, winning 49-44 against Bengal Warriorz.

In that game, Aditya Shinde led the team with 18 points, while Pankaj Mohite contributed 10 and Inamdar added seven. Bengaluru Bulls entered the match in seventh place, with 10 points from 10 games and a negative score difference of seven. Puneri Paltan confirmed that Inamdar would miss the game due to illness, with Pankaj Mohite stepping in as captain for the clash.

Inamdar had been a key player this season, accumulating 47 points, including 36 raid points and 11 tackle points, along with one Super Raid, a Super 10, two Super Tackles, and 26 tackles. His absence was expected to impact Puneri Paltan’s performance, as he had been central to their strategy and success in PKL 12 so far.
