Puneri Paltan star Aslam Inamdar, who once helped his mother at a tea stall, will now lead the team in PKL 2025. After debuting in 2021, he rose to fame with fearless raids, guiding Puneri to their maiden title in Season 10. Despite injuries in Season 11, his resilience, consistency, and mentorship from Ashok Shinde made him an inspiration.
Coming to the Pro Kabaddi League 2025, Puneri Paltan’s captain Aslam Inamdar stands as one of the league’s most inspiring figures. His story is a journey of resilience, starting from working at a tea stall to lifting the PKL Season 10 trophy. Growing up in hardship, Aslam worked in hotels and farms to support his family, but his passion for kabaddi never faded. Guided by his brother Wasim and coach Rahul Balkar, he kept playing without recognition for nearly a decade before finally breaking through in 2019.
By 2021, he made his PKL debut with Puneri Paltan and quickly became known as a fearless raider. The turning point came when he led Puneri to their maiden PKL title in Season 10 and was named Most Valuable Player. However, an injury in Season 11 tested his determination, with many doubting his return. Refusing to give in, Aslam trusted his self-belief and the guidance of mentor Ashok Shinde, who always backed him.
He also highlighted how PKL has transformed players’ lives, citing that consistent earnings of around INR 8 crores over a few seasons can completely change a player’s future. Aslam’s journey from washing tea glasses to captaining a PKL champion team makes him a role model for aspiring athletes across India.
