When the rain poured down at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Everton to climb to third place in the Premier League 2025-26 standings. Dutch defender Micky van de Ven emerged as the hero with two first-half goals, while Pape Sarr sealed the win late in the match.

The result ended Everton’s unbeaten home run at their new stadium and gave Thomas Frank’s side their second win in five league outings. Van de Ven opened the scoring in the 19th minute, nodding home from close range after Rodrigo Bentancur’s assist from a corner. He struck again just before halftime, heading in Pedro Porro’s corner past Jordan Pickford. Everton’s Jake O’Brien had a goal disallowed by VAR for offside, while Jack Grealish and James Garner both missed early chances.

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario made crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet. Substitute Richarlison later missed an opportunity against his former club, but Sarr made it 3-0 in the 89th minute. With this result, Tottenham now sit five points behind league leaders Arsenal, maintaining the best away record in the division and displaying a disciplined defensive approach under Frank’s management.
