Manchester United stand to earn nearly £50 million if Barcelona completes deals for Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood next summer. Rashford’s loan could become permanent for £25 million plus £5 million add-ons, while Greenwood, currently valued around £34.8 million, carries a 50% sell-on clause, potentially earning United £17.4 million if Marseille sells him. Barcelona is reportedly scouting Greenwood.

As the 2025 summer transfer window approaches, Manchester United stands to benefit financially from the potential moves of two former and current forwards. Mason Greenwood, who joined Marseille in the summer of 2024 for a fee that could rise to £26.6 million, has a 50% sell-on clause included in his deal. Greenwood has been in fine form, scoring four goals in Marseille’s 6-2 win over Le Havre, attracting attention from clubs including Barcelona.

If the Spanish side pursue Greenwood, United could earn around £17.4 million from the sell-on clause alone. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is on a season-long loan at Barcelona with an option for the club to buy him permanently. Should Barcelona trigger this option, United would receive £25 million, with an additional £5 million possible in add-ons, plus a sell-on clause for future transfers.

Combining potential earnings from both Greenwood and Rashford, United could earn close to £50 million. These funds would provide a significant boost for the club in the upcoming transfer window, allowing strategic reinforcements. United are closely monitoring both situations, and a reunion of Greenwood and Rashford at Barcelona could become a reality, marking another chapter in the club’s history of profiting from outgoing talents.
