Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez, 27, is close to returning after his ACL injury sustained in February against Crystal Palace. The Argentine, training individually since July, could rejoin full training next month. His comeback, expected by late November or early December, would bolster United’s defence, which has conceded 11 goals in seven league games.

In the latest update from Manchester United, defender Lisandro Martinez is expected to make his long-awaited return from injury next month. The 27-year-old Argentine has been sidelined since February after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Crystal Palace. Having resumed outdoor training in July, Martinez is currently working individually but remains actively involved by attending team meetings and observing training sessions.

Reports suggest that Manchester United are targeting a return for him after the November international break, potentially in time for the hectic festive fixture schedule. Since joining the club in 2022, Martinez’s progress has been repeatedly hampered by injuries, having endured three long-term absences. His return is seen as crucial for manager Ruben Amorim, whose side has struggled defensively this season.

The Red Devils have conceded 11 goals in seven Premier League matches after shipping 54 last season. Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland last weekend brought some relief, with new goalkeeper Senne Lammens impressing on debut. However, Amorim will be eager to strengthen his backline further with Martinez’s leadership and composure. While he could rejoin full training next month, the club remains cautious, determined to avoid a relapse after eight months out of competitive football.
