Jordan Henderson has signed a two-year deal with Brentford after leaving Ajax on a free transfer. The 35-year-old, with 431 Premier League appearances, 33 goals, and 53 assists, returns as a vital leader following Brentford’s squad changes. His leadership echoes Erling Haaland’s impact off the pitch through recent ventures like the Breitling watch launch.

As the 2025–26 Premier League season approaches, Brentford have secured a major signing by bringing in veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson on a free transfer. The 35-year-old England international has signed a two-year deal with the Bees after leaving Ajax earlier this summer. Henderson, who began his Premier League journey with Sunderland at just 18, rose to prominence with Liverpool, joining them in 2011 and later captaining the side from 2015.

During his time at Anfield, he lifted eight major trophies, including the Champions League and the Premier League. After a brief spell with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, Henderson joined Ajax for the 2024 season and across his Premier League career, he has featured in 431 matches, contributing 33 goals and 53 assists. On the international stage, Henderson has earned 84 caps for England and was named England Men's Player of the Year in 2019.

With Brentford losing key leaders like Christian Norgaard, Mark Flekken, and Ben Mee, Henderson’s experience and leadership are seen as crucial. Head coach Keith Andrews praised his fitness, motivation, and influence, calling him one of the most important leaders in recent Premier League history. Henderson’s leadership will be tested when Brentford open their campaign against Nottingham Forest on August 17.
