Luis Diaz made a strong first impression for Bayern Munich in their 2-1 friendly win over Lyon. The Colombian winger won a penalty and created multiple chances after coming on in the second half. Harry Kane, who played the first half, praised Díaz’s hunger and energy, calling his debut a great job ahead of the new season.

For the friendly clash between Bayern Munich and Lyon, new signing Luis Díaz made an immediate impact off the bench in his debut appearance. The Colombian winger, who joined Bayern from Premier League champions Liverpool just three days earlier, featured in the second half and impressed with his energy and creativity. Díaz won a penalty, converted by Michael Olise, which gave Bayern the lead in their 2-1 victory at the Allianz Arena.

Harry Kane, who started the match and played the first half, praised Díaz, saying he looked hungry and eager and was clearly enjoying himself. Sporting director Christoph Freund also lauded Díaz's performance, highlighting his three goal-scoring chances and intense playing style. Freund expressed confidence that Díaz will contribute heavily in terms of goals and assists in the upcoming season.

Bayern now look ahead to their remaining pre-season fixtures against Kane’s former club Tottenham Hotspur and Grasshoppers Zurich. These will serve as final tune-ups before the 2025–26 season officially begins with the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against VfB Stuttgart on August 16. With key attackers like Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané having departed and Jamal Musiala sidelined, Díaz’s arrival adds much-needed firepower to Bayern's forward line.
