IND vs NZ | Twitter salutes as Surya takes supla to new high marrying it with helicopter in audacious flick

Suryakumar Yadav is one of a kind in T20 cricket, and the Indian skipper proved that with his unbelievable shot-making against New Zealand in the third T20I. He put his elastic wrist to good use, producing a stunning flick from outside the off stump to send the ball over square leg.

‌India did an excellent job of restricting New Zealand to 153/9 after putting them in, in the third T20I in Guwahati. Jasprit Bumrah came back into the side in style with an impressive spell of 3/17 in four overs, with Hardik Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi also chipping in with two wickets.

Though the Men in Blue’s chase started on an awful note, with Sanju Samson being castled by Mark Henry for a golden duck, the left-handed duo of Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma sent the Kiwis on a leather hunt, putting on an exhibition of six hitting. The home side raced post 50 in the fourth over as Suryakumar Yadav walked in at the fall of Kishan.

After playing second fiddle to Abhishek’s big-hitting for a brief while, the Indian skipper decided to take centerstage with an unbelievable hit past the fence. With Jacob Duffy trying to keep Surya quiet with a good length delivery outside off, the Indian skipper had other plans.

He shuffled across to produce an audacious flick to send the ball soaring over the square leg fence. For Surya, it was just another shot as he walked across casually towards his partner to exchange fist bumps.

But the expression on Gambhir’s face summed up the skill level required to pull off the shot. The Indian coach quietly praised Surya’s unbelievable shot-making ability with just a shake of his head. Twitter was in awe, too, as Surya created an addictive concoction of the helicopter shot and his trademark supla shot to produce a visual treat.
