Another new champion is set to be crowned in 2025, as the Women's World Cup creates history. Earlier, this tournament was only won by Australia and England. However, both of these teams have now been eliminated from the tournament by India and South Africa,

With this, the year 2025 continues its trend of producing new champions in almost every tournament. It all started with the Big Bash League, moved on to the Indian Premier League, and has now arrived at the Women's World Cup. Fans can also call this a year where history is being made by the teams.

1. Hobart Hurricanes Wins BBL

At first, the year seemed pretty normal, but the Hobart Hurricanes became the first team to start the new champion streak. The team had a great campaign in the BBL, finishing 1st in the league stages with 7 wins in 10 games. In the Qualifier match against the Sydney Sixers, they clinched a 12-run win and advanced to the finals.

Eventually, Sydney Thunder became the team they had to face in the finals. They batted first and scored 182 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Their bowling attack kept Punjab from chasing. And when Hazlewood bowled two legal deliveries in the final over, Punjab was out of the game, and Virat Kohli was also spotted in tears. Eventually, RCB ended up winning the title by 6 runs, ending their 18-year-long wait.

3. South Africa Wins ICC Title

With RCB winning the title, South Africa decided that they should not be out of this race. The team started a dominant Test run, which helped them reach the finals of the World Test Championship. This time, their opponents were Australia, the defending champions of the tournament, as the match was set to be played at The Lord's.

In the end, South Africa won the final match by 5 wickets, winning their first ICC trophy in this century.

4. Women's World Cup

All the streaks created previously will be continued in the Women's World Cup. In this tournament, it seemed like the Ashes, as only Australia and England had won the title before this. However, neither of these teams could even make it to the finals of the tournament for the

South Africa secured a dominant win against England in the first semi-final. Later, India had a thriller clash against Australia in the second semi-final, which helped them to win and reach the finals of the tournament. For the first time in the history of the Women's World Cup, a new champion is set to be crowned on 2 November.
