South Africa showcased its dominant performances in the Women's World Cup. And the team has knocked out one of the strong favourites of the tournament, defeating England in the semi-final stages. This will be for the first time when South Africa of the Women's World Cup (ODI edition).

The team also qualified for the semi-final stages in the 2022 Women's World Cup. But they lost the clash against England Women, missing out on the finals. Since then, the team has made it to three consecutive ICC finals in the Women's tournament. The question is, who will the team face in the finals this time?

1. T20 World Cup 2023

In the Women's T20 World Cup 2023, South Africa had a shaky start. The team had some mediocre performances in the group stages, as they secured two wins and two losses in four games. Still, due to their run rate, the team was able to finish at the second spot, being just behind Australia in the standings.

With this, the team went against England in the semi-final clash. The same team which defeated them in the 2022 World Cup semi-final was facing them this time. But it was time for South Africa Women to take redemption for the same. South Africa had the home ground advantage, being the hosts of the tournament and they utilised it to the best.

Batting first, the team ended up scoring 164 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Tazmin Brits was the top performer with 68 runs off 55 balls. In turn, England was restricted to just 158 runs, being six runs short of a tie. Thus, South Africa ended up reaching the finals of the tournament, where they went against Australia.

Australia had decided to bat first in this game and the team was able to score 156 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Beth Mooney changed the game, scoring 74 runs off 53 balls. However, South Africa failed to chase the target, falling short by just 19 runs to win the game.

2. T20 World Cup 2024

South Africa again made it to the finals of the Women's T20 World Cup in the 2024 edition. This time the team gave its best in the group stages, finishing at the second spot with 3 wins in 4 matches. But in the semi-final match, they went against Australia, the same team which defeated them in the 2023 finals.

South Africa was lucky enough to win the toss in this game, as the team decided to field first. They were able to do a good job in restricting Australia for just 134 runs. In return, the chase was completed easily with the help of Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch, who notched up a great stand for the team.

Bosch finished the game by scoring 74 runs off 48 balls, as the team won by 8 wickets and reached the finals against New Zealand. This time again, they were able to win the toss and decided to field first. New Zealand was able to score 158 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. In the chase, South Africa fell down against the New Zealand bowlers. Even after standing at 51/1 in 6.5 overs, the team was only able to score 126/9 in 20 overs. Losing the game by 32 runs, the team made it to consecutive finals but also endured consecutive final losses.

3. Women's World Cup 2025

For the third consecutive time, South Africa has managed to reach the finals of the Women's World Cup. And it is also for the first time they have reached the finals of the ODI World Cup. Even after losing two finals previously, the team will be heading to the finals

The team had one of its best Women's World Cup campaigns, finishing 2nd in the standings with 5 wins in 7 matches. For the semi-final clash, they had to go against England, the same team which knocked them out of the 2022 Women's World Cup. South Africa got a great turnaround this time, as the team in this game.

Laura Wolvaardt ended up scoring 169 runs, which helped the team to score 319 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. England was also known for setting big scores and fans thought the match would go close. Marizanne Kap came up with a game changing spell which allowed South Africa to win by 125 runs and reach the finals of the tournament.
