AUS vs IND | Twitter keeps faith in Virat Kohli after batter records second straight blob in Australia

Virat Kohli’s horrendous tour of Australia continued as the batter recorded his second duck in two matches at Adelaide Oval on Thursday. But the Bharat Army continued to keep faith in the batting maestro as they gave him a standing ovation at his favourite ground, as he walked back to the pavilion.

‌India struggled with the bat after Australia put them in in the second ODI at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. Former captain Rohit Sharma looked tentative and rusty as he played out 24 dot balls in the first six overs as India dragged to 17/0 in the first six overs.

Skipper Shubman Gill, in his bid to up the ante, stepped down the track on the first ball of  Xavier Bartlett’s second over. The ball pitched on a good length around off stump, but the charging batter met it under his bat as he tried to whack it to the fence. But he found his counterpart Mitchell Marsh at mid-off, who completed a safe catch.

Virat Kohli, India’s batting mainstay, walked into one of his favourite venues amid loud cheers from the Bharat Army. But the batter could not do much as he was trapped in front of the wicket by Bartlett in the same over, with a delivery that seamed in from a length. Incidentally, it was the first time in his 304-match ODI career that the former Indian skipper was recording two consecutive ducks.

The batter was visibly disappointed as he walked towards his partner Rohit, who rightly advised him not to take the review. He slowly started his long walk back to the pavilion, but the fans were quick to remind him about his deeds in the white-ball game, giving him a standing ovation as he neared the boundary ropes.

Though the batter was heartbroken, he acknowledged their love and waved toward them before continuing his way into the dressing room. Twitter echoed the sentiments of the fans on the ground as it hailed one of the greatest white-ball players in the world, while waiting for a comeback in the next game.
