NZ vs AUS | Twitter chuckles as Head rejoices redemption for dropped takes in overly exaggerated way

There are few worse cricket feelings than dropping a catch, for it impacts the entire team's chances of winning while also depriving a bowler of a deserved wicket. Travis Head knows it all too well having dropped two in the first T20I against New Zealand, but chose to see the funny side of things.

After a rain delay and another interruption as early as the second over, the third and final T20I between New Zealand and Australia finally got away at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui with the hosts put in to bat first. Much like the opening encounter, the wickets kept tumbling in quick succession with then-centurion Tim Robinson also failing to make an impact as no stand managed to surpass the 40-run mark. However, Tim Seifert emerged a sore thorn in the Aussie's side, the in-form opener singlehandedly keeping his team afloat with a slew of exotic shots. Seifert was all set for a half-century when he played a shot too many, his attempted scoop off Xavier Bartlett spooning up from the splice of the bat and ballooning into Travis Head's hends inside the circle for the simplest of catches, even though his reaction suggested otherwise.

Upon pocketing the ball, a smile slowly spread over Head's face, more than cognizant that his fielding was under the scanner. The all-format star had let two easy ones slip in the opening game even though it did not matter much as they cruised to victory, with Head himself setting the foundation with a rapid cameo up-top. Nevertheless, Head made sure he did not let the elephant in the room go unadressed as he suddenly performed two overly exaggerated fist-pumps, aggressively punching the air over his head before being enveloped by a gaggle of giggling teammates.

Twitterati was thoroughly entertained.
