Beautiful yorkers disturbing the timber has always been a sight to behold and who better than Bumrah to execute one of the hardest skills in the game of cricket. The master bowler came in at a crucial juncture to castle Washington Sundar’s stumps as the batter lost his balance trying to block that.

‌In a winner-take-all contest, Mumbai Indians put out an excellent show batting first against Gujarat Titans in New Chandigarh to put up a massive 228/5 after opting to bat first. MI rode on former skipper Rohit Sharma’s 50-ball 81, a knock which included nine fours and four sixes, to put Gujarat under the cosh.

In reply, GT had an excellent start despite losing skipper Shubman Gill in the very first over with the score reading just three. Sai Sudharsan continued his excellent form this season with his sixth fifty of the season and added 64 runs with Kusal Mendis, who came in for Jos Buttler. The left-hander then put on 84 off just 44 balls with Washington Sundar for the third wicket as GT looked well set to chase down the giant total.

With 81 required in the last seven overs, Jasprit Bumrah came to bowl his third over and had a wonderful start giving away just three runs in his first three balls. Then as always expected from him, the ace pacer came up with a peach of a delivery. He unleashed a thunderbolt that pitched right in front of Sundar’s feet on the leg stump. The batter lost his balance while realising that the angling ball had crashed into his stumps.

As Sundar knelt down symbolically acknowledging his unbelievable delivery, Bumrah was ecstatic with his pinpoint execution to dismiss the well-set Sundar for 48 off just 24 tilting the game strongly in MI’s favour. Twitter was in awe of how the speedster always pulls out a magic ball whenever the team badly needs a wicket from him.

Ahead of the Eliminator between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans in Mullanpur, only 17 men had been hitwicket in IPL history. To join that limited list in a knockout with your wicket pivotal to the team is a nightmare no one wishes to endure, yet Kusal Mendis suffered such a cruel fate on Thursday.
