Not every mistake in cricket has the same price -- fail to connect a wide delivery and you might lose a wicket, but fail to hit a bumper and you might lose your head. Imagine then the guts it takes to willfully put yourself under such duress, because that is what Jitesh Sharma did on Tuesday.

While viewers debated in their heads whether the batter would go for a hook, dab, cut, or duck, Jitesh bent down his front knee and patiently waited for the Kookaburra to arrive, before at the very last moment ducking his head out of the way and with a phenomenal whip of the wrist sent the ball sailing straight over the keeper's head for a maximum. If Tillekeratne Dilshan had made hitting straight over the stumps a phenomenon with the Dilscoop and Suryakumar Yadav perfected the art of using his wrists to score behind the wicket, Jitesh had married the two concepts to play one of the most ridiculous shots witnessed on a cricket field.
