After a long round of geopolitical tensions for the last few months, the cloud of uncertainty is finally over from the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2025. It became official when the Asian Cricket Council announced the schedule for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

In what seems to be a relieving piece of news for the cricket fans, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) finally revealed the official dates for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. The tournament is set to be played in September 2025. Amidst all this, what caught the attention of the fans and what they were eagerly waiting for was the India vs Pakistan game.

In the same line of events, the arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been seeded in the group, alongside Oman and the tournament hosts, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). On the other hand, Group B will have Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. The T20I edition of the continental tournament will commence on September 9, concluding on September 28. The top two teams from Groups A and B will move to the super-four stage, where they will compete to secure a spot in the final. The high-octane game between India and Pakistan will be played on September 14. The tournament will kick off with the opening game between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on September 9.

The dates for the three-week tournament were decided and revealed in the AGM (Annual General Meeting) of ACC, led by the president, Mohsin Naqvi. Officially, India are the hosts of the tournament’s 2025 edition, but it will be played at a neutral venue, considering an agreement between BCCI and PCB, to not play in Pakistan or India. This agreement between two Asian cricketing giants was made before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The ground of this agreement was India’s refusal to play in Pakistan in the marquee international tournament.
