ZIM T20I Tri-series | Bennett and Ngarava back from injuries in 16-man Zimbabwe squad

Zimbabwe has announced its 16-man squad for the home T20I tri-series involving New Zealand and South Africa. All-rounder Brian Bennet is cleared to play after suffering a concussion during the Test series against the Proteas while Richard Ngarava has recovered from a lower-back injury.
Zimbabwe will be led by Sikander Raza in an upcoming T20I tri-series, starting from July 14 at the Harare Sports Club with an encounter against the Proteas. The squad includes three uncapped players, namely wicketkeeper Tafadzwa Tsiga, left-arm seamer Newman Nyamhuri, and leg spinner Vincent Masekesa. All-rounder Brian Bennet has also been cleared to play after he was ruled out with concussion following a blow to the head in the Test series against the Rainbow Nation.
Another notable returnee is experienced campaigners Richard Ngarava, with the 27-year-old pacer last playing an international game in February 2025 before he was sidelined against South Africa due to a lower-back injury. The left-arm pacer has 80 wickets in 69 T20Is at an average of 21.38 and is set to recombine with Blessing Muzarabani to shore up the Chevrons' pace attack.
Zimbabwe wil play both the Proteas and Kiwis twice in a double round-robin, with the top two teams at the end of the group stage progressing to the final in Harare on July 26.
