‌WPL | Sneh Rana replaces Shreyanka Patil in injury-depleted Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad

The injury woes deepen for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out of the remainder of the ensuing Women’s Premier League. All-rounder Sneh Rana, who was previously with the Gujarat Giants has been named as Shreyanka’s replacement for the defending champions.

Rana, who stunned the WPL realm for the wrong reasons after failing to gain bidders in the mini-auction will now be a part of the Bengaluru unit under Smriti Mandhana’s leadership. Shreyanka failed to recover from an injured shin and will be a huge miss for RCB. She bagged the purple cap last season after bucketing thirteen wickets including a four-for in the grand finale against the Delhi Capitals.

Rana was an integral part of the Giants last season but failed to shine with her three-dimensional skills. In her twelve games for the franchise, she even led the side for a couple of matches in Beth Mooney’s absence.

This is not the only setback that RCB received this season. The likes of Kate Cross and Sophie Devine have made themselves unavailable while Sophie Molineux and Asha Sobhana were ruled out due to injuries. They kicked off the curtain raiser with an emphatic victory riding on the back of half-centuries from Richa Ghosh and Ellyse Perry.
