The Hundred Preview | London Spirit search for consistency with home game against Northern Superchargers

London Spirit will host Northern Superchargers in the 22nd match of The Hundred Men’s 2025 at Lord’s on Wednesday. The Spirit are currently placed second from bottom with eight points from two wins in five games, while the Superchargers are on third with 12 points from three wins in five games.

‌London Spirit will take field at Lord’s on Wednesday in search of some consistency that has evaded them during The Hundred Men’s 2025 campaign. The Spirit is yet to win two matches in a row in their five games so far this season as they host Northern Superchargers in their sixth.

The London-based outfit are currently placed second from bottom with eight points from two wins in five games, while Superchargers are sitting at third with 12 points from three wins. Both sides walk into this contest after facing heavy defeats in their previous games. Spirit lost to Birmingham Phoenix by seven wickets while the Superchargers were humbled by 57 runs by Manchester Originals.

David Warner has led the Spirit’s batting from the front with 165 runs, including two fifties, from five games at an average of 41.25 and a strike rate of 134.14 with skipper Kane Williamson tallying 120 runs so far this year. Pacer Daniel Worrall has delivered the goods for the home side with the ball picking up six wickets from four games at an average of 17.33 and a strike rate of 11.16, with left-arm spinner Liam Dawson scalping five wickets.

For the Superchargers, opener Zak Crawley has been in fine nick with a tally of 159 runs from five games at an average of 39.75 and a strike rate of 172.82. Skipper Harry Brook has also come good with the bat scoring 136 runs at an average of 45.33 and a strike rate of 161.90. With the ball, pacer Matthew Potts leads the Superchargers’ wicket-takers’ list scalping seven wickets from five games with leg-spinner Adil Rashid picking up six.

The surface at Lord’s is expected to be flat with another hig-scoring game in the offing. It will be a batter’s paradise with true bounce and quick outfield ensuring full value for the shots. A cloudy and cold evening in London will welcome both teams for the game with temperatures expected to be around the 14-degree mark. Though there will be thick cloud cover during the course of the match, chances of rain are placed at only 4%.

Leg-spinner Jafer Chohan is expected to replace the injured Liam Dawson while Jamie Overton may come in to the side either in place of Olly Stone or Richard Gleeson for London Spirit. Meanwhile, the Superchargers are expected to go in with the same team despite their heavy loss to the Originals.
