Match Report

Batting first, Outer Delhi Warriors lost both their openers, Priyansh Arya (13) and Sanat Sangwan (8), in 3.5 overs. Ahlawat and Meena gave these two early blows to ODW. Following the departure of both the openers, the middle order displayed an intact performance, including a steady partnership between Varun Yadav and Keshav Dabas. Before falling prey to an unfortunate run-out, Dabas had contributed 26 runs off 18 balls, with two fours and a six. Yadav continued to carry forward his counter-attacking approach and ended up scoring 48 runs off 36 balls, with four fours and two sixes, before getting caught at deep extra cover by Mayank Rawat off Navdeep Saini in the 14th over. Following these two crucial contributions, Dhruv Singh’s 13-ball 17 and Harsh Tyagi’s 13 (10) helped the Warriors reach the total of 152/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Ahlawat’s early strike (2/29) was followed by the wicket-taking bowling by Ashish Meena (2/22) and Navdeep Saini (2/31) for the East Delhi Riders.

While chasing the target, EDR opener Sujal Singh (9) was beaten on the inside edge by Anshuman Hooda in the fourth over, which came as a first blow for his side. However, Arpit Rana continued hitting some impactful boundaries to score 31 (22), with the help of five fours and a six. He was joined by Anuj Rawat, who stood there in the middle till the end after Rana’s departure in the seventh over. Rana mistimed a lofted shot to long-on and ended up giving an easy catch to Keshav Dabas off Harsh Tyagi. Anuj Rawat stitched an unbeaten 48-run stand to take the side home, scoring 153/4 in just 18.1 overs. Anuj scored an unbeaten knock of 66 runs off 41 balls, with six fours and three sixes, alongside Mayank’s unbeaten 21-run knock (two fours and a six).
