Being unlucky at a crucial moment is tough, and getting out hit-wicket only adds to the heartbreak. That’s exactly what happened to Abhinav Manohar, whose gritty effort to rescue SRH against Mumbai Indians at Hyderabad ended on a sour note with an unfortunate hit-wicket dismissal.

‌Riding on a three-match winning streak, Mumbai Indians dominated early after Hardik Pandya elected to bowl, reducing Sunrisers Hyderabad to 24/4 inside the powerplay. Heinrich Klaasen revived SRH’s innings with a gritty 71 off 44 balls, forging a crucial 99-run partnership with Abhinav Manohar. Despite Klaasen’s resistance, his dismissal in the 19th over by Jasprit Bumrah left SRH at 123/6 with little momentum heading into the final overs. Additionally, Manohar had a sad ending to this innings culminating to a hit wicket dismissal.

On the fourth delivery of the final over, Trent Boult bowled a full ball angled in on the fourth stump line. Abhinav Manohar tried to create room and went too deep into his crease and attempted to slice it through the off side. In doing so, he lost balance and accidentally hit the stumps with his bat while bringing it down. The unfortunate and self-inflicted dismissal at a crucial moment left Manohar visibly disappointed as he trudged off the field. The Hyderabad crowd fell silent, and fans online were quick to express their sympathy.

Why?

Oh god!

LOL!

This is turning out to be something else!

Hahaha!
