Interruptions during matches are not unusual, and occasionally, wildlife can make unexpected appearances. Such was the case in the County game between Glamorgan and Middlesex, where play was briefly halted after a stray fox wandered onto the field as players had some amusement amidst the game.

‌Glamorgan were dismissed for 199 after being put in to bat first. Middlesex skipper Toby Roland-Jones spearheaded the bowling attack with figures of 3 for 44, well supported by Dane Paterson, Ryan Higgins, and Zafar Gohar, who claimed two wickets each. In response, Middlesex reached 118 for 2 by the end of the first session on Day 2, with Nathan Fernandes scoring a composed 58 off 136 and Stephen Eskinazi contributing 39 from 93 deliveries to give their side the upper hand. The match also saw a light-hearted moment when a stray fox briefly interrupted play by running onto the field.

The clip’s viral spread highlighted just how entertained viewers were by the fox’s unplanned cameo.
