IND-W vs PAK-W | Twitter and Renuka rejuvenated after producing peach stuff to humiliate Feroz

Getting good results after a horrendous failure often brings joy to the soul. Renuka Singh Thakur’s reaction was no different when she drew the first blood in the clash of arch-rivals - India versus Pakistan - having suffered a team failure in their previous assignment against New Zealand.

With luck going against India for the second consecutive time in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s decision to bat first received a hostile welcome. Renuka Singh Thakur donned the new ball in search of lateral movement in a high-octane clash, and did produce her magic at the end of the opening over.

Having conceded just a single run in the first five balls of the opening over, Renuka continued to trouble the Pakistan openers with big in-swings. She came over the wicket and bowled a length delivery much outside the stumps that sharply sneaked into Gull Feroza through the gates. Seeing the wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh  come up to the stumps before the delivery, the batter intended to counter-punch by shimmying down the ground. In the process, she went out of position to negate the sharp in-swing from Renuka and the white cherry crashed onto the stumps with the bowler seen leaping in the air and punching the air. The Twitterverse was awed by Renuka’s bowling genius and showered positive feelings.
