AFG vs BAN | Twitter reacts to skillful Rashid Khan’s magical wrong’un startle Mehidy Hasan Miraz

‌Not always do you see an opposition stunned after being outperformed on the battlefield. But Mehidy Hasan Miraz was bound to wear such an expression across his face after Rashid Khan’s magical delivery left him in tatters during the second ODI between Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto didn’t quite hesitate to send the opposition to the field first under the sweltering Sharjah conditions. Openers Soumya Sarkar and Tanzid Hasan Kicked off the innings on a flying note before Allah Ghazanfar outwitted the latter in the first powerplay. A 71-run second-wicket stand followed before the sudden grip and turn on a flatter-seeming deck became vivid. Nevertheless, Bangladesh kept piling on runs with skipper Shanto going strong from one end with Mehidy Hasan Miraz. But the latter couldn’t quite capitalise on his start, courtesy of a Rashid Khan jaffa.

Following a wide down the leg stump line, Mehidy was pushed on the back foot by a googly from over the wicket, dished outside the stumps. As the batter tried to punch against the turn, he ended up playing outside the line and got beaten on the inside edge to hear the death’s knell. The ball turned sharply to knock the stumps with Mehidy spotted startled at the crease. For more than a couple of seconds, the all-rounder stood there at the crease before trudging off the field. Seeing the sudden purchase off the pitch that soothed the batters to a greater extent, the Twitterverse could not resist from lauding the Afghan’s brilliance.
