Fanbases in cricket are often regarded as the 12th-man army and they find innovative ways to show their support. When the Chinnaswamy on-ground camera caught a fan in the crowd disguised as Shikhar Dhawan between the clash of PBKS and RCB, it brought everyone some laughs including Virat Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings squared off in their respective second matches of IPL 2024 with the latter batting first in their away game. Captain Shikhar Dhawan played an anchoring knock despite the regular fall of wickets in the first half of the innings before getting out to Glenn Maxwell in the 12th over. Despite the setback, Sam Curran and Jitesh Sharma tried to rebuild the phase in the intensified contest before the camera spotted a fan disguised as Dhawan in the crowd leaving everyone including Kohli laughing.

With the score reading 139/4 and Curran and Jitesh looking to accelerate, Yash Dayal was summoned back with the ball to make an impact for RCB. While that did help the hosts’ cause, there was something more entertaining waiting in the wings. The actual impact was made by Kohli’s facial expression when he failed to control his laughter after the giant screen spotted a Shikhar Dhawan doppelganger leaving the Twitterverse buzzing.
