BGT | Twitter reacts to MCG booing Kohli's unnecessarily aggressive behavior

Aggression has been an Australian hallmark for decades, propagated by Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, Tim Paine, and the ilk. This is why Virat Kohli is also widely celebrated in the land Down Under but in the Boxing Day Test on Thursday, the visitor seemed to cross a line and the MCG let him know.

Australia got off to a great start on the opening day of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG as Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja seemed cautious with the way they went about business. After a struggling phase against the new ball, Konstas expressed his natural game with a flurry of fancy shots helping him set up for a fifty. After he was dismissed, Marnus Labuschagne walked into the field but was amused on his first ball itself by Virat Kohli.

The fourth ball of the 20th over saw Ravindra Jadeja come around the wicket and bowl a fuller one at the off stump. Marnus proded forward and punched it to short cover where Kohli gushed in and made a shy at the stumps. The throw was directed towards Labuschagne who was just outside the crease, sending him back in a haste. The new batter was taken by the surprise throw from the former Indian captain, and the Twitterverse called out Kohli overaggresive.

True match-winners love to always be involved in the game, even if they have no actual role to play in the ongoing affairs. Virat Kohli belongs to this same mould and when he saw India under the pump at the MCG on Thursday, the former skipper attempted to distract Sam Konstas in typical style.
