Rahul Dravid is one of the finest cricketers of his generation and has led the Indian team as well after the Sourav Ganguly era and many youngsters made their debut under his leadership. Former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan talked about Dravid and feels that he will always give players clarity.

Rahul Dravid is one of the finest batters of his generation and commands a lot of respect from fellow cricketers as well as the young generation as many of them grew up watching the legendary batter. Dravid during his career has also captained the Indian team and that period saw many youngsters getting chances. The former Indian cricketer is now the head coach of the Indian team and will be working with KL Rahul who has been appointed as the skipper for the T20I series against South Africa.

Former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan who played under Rahul Dravid feels that Dravid would have talked to KL Rahul about how he would like the team to play in the series against South Africa.

“It is extremely necessary and the clarity would have been given. I have been saying that since Rahul Dravid has come as a coach, I have played under his captaincy, his biggest thing is the clarity of role,” said Irfan Pathan on Star Sports.

“It is not that the earlier coaches have not done that, Ravi Shastri was there and Virat Kohli was captaining, but he (Dravid) will take it one step ahead. I have full belief the communication would have happened and KL Rahul would have been told that if he is the captain, it means he is the next in line,” he said.

India will play five T20Is against South Africa starting from June 9, 2022.
