Ashley Giles is thrilled to have captain Eoin Morgan committing to continue in his role as leader of the limited-overs formats of the game. England has the opportunity to be the first team to hold both World Cup trophies at the same time when they head to Australia for the World T20 next year.

Although he had earlier hinted that he might hand over the captaincy after the successful World Cup campaign, a rejuvenated Morgan has now committed to leading the side at least till next year’s showdown Down Under.

"We met a month after the World Cup final and he wanted some time to consider his future which is the way he operates. Thankfully he rang me a couple of weeks after that saying he was committed to going forwards and looking forward to it. I am delighted. He is a fantastic leader of men and with us losing (coach) Trevor (Bayliss) it is important we retain some consistency in that leadership going forward. We've got two T20 World Cups in two years," Giles was quoted saying by TimesNowNews.com.

Post World Cup, England managed to draw the Ashes series 2-2, but are yet to get back to playing white-ball cricket. Meanwhile, Morgan kept his willow flowing with a stupendous 29-ball 83 to lead Middlesex to a record-breaking win, chasing down 227 with three overs to spare.
